• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

What software do you use to edit your videos? I particularly use iMovie, because it came with the computer, and I've been able to do very interesting things without being too complicated. I have been talking about this in the UK on forums there and they are saying Final Cut Express HD What about you?

I'm an amature who uses FCP because when I bought in, FCX wasn't yet available. A third party app is Avid Express Pro. Also, Adobe says they are bringing their app back to the Mac later this year. It will be Intel only.

Perhaps after this Monday we'll know what the upgrade plans are for FCP and FCX. People are expecting Apple to release a new version of FCP at the NAB show.

I am currently using a very outdated version of iMovie. I think it is 2.1, I dont mind because the movies I make are not for anything important so it does me just fine. I have tried Adobe After Effects and for me it is very difficult to use. And I dont think you can import video directly from your camera using After Effects.
