Early Mini iPad nonfunctional

Came home to a dead mini. Will not turn on. Will not hard reset. Connecting to computer has no effect either. Other than just buying a new one, anyone have any suggestions on how to bring life back into it?

It's possible the battery is dead. Take it to Apple and let them look it over - there's no cost for them to look it over. They do charge to change the battery if it's bad.
