Will the dvd player in a MacBook Pro (early 2011) play PAL format?

Your 2011 MacBook Pro can play a PAL DVD, however, commercially recorded DVDs are encoded for regions. Very likely a PAL DVD will be encoded with a region other than the US and Canada. You can change region codes only a select number of times before the player will no longer accept a change. So you need to be careful about playing PAL DVDs.
