During Update computer keeps crashing

When i update my computer it gets about a quarter of the way through it the it shuts down. I can not access my desktop as whenever i start it up the updates start!

Please Help
P.s. I dont have the startup disk

What is being updated?

Lots more info on the make and model, system version etc is needed.
