Good day: I have duplicate birthdays showing in my calendar on my Mac Pro 13". Im running 10.15.2 Catalina. I tried unchecking the Birthdays Calendar but all birthdays disappear not just the duplicates. I looked in Apple Support but wasn't able to find anything helpful. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Thank you. Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for your post.

The Birthdays' Calendar gets the data from your Contacts - from the "Birthday" field. Might be worth looking in Contacts and seeing if there are any duplicate entries there.

Do please post back and let us know.

Are you using iCloud to sync information between your Mac and another devce (iPhone, iPad, etc)? If so y's probably;y showing you the entries for both the Birthdays entries that are stored on your Mac and the Birthdays entries o your device. This article may help.

Hi Ian.
I thought I posted a reply to you as soon as you responded but its not here for some reason. I do apologize for the delay in getting back to you.

So, I did check my contacts and there are no duplicates however right after I posted my question, I thought about checking Calendar Preferences. I unchecked the Birthday Calendar and nothing changed so I checked it again, closed the preferences and when I looked at my calendar the duplicates were gone. What a simple fix. Lol. Would have saved me a lot of frustration if I'd have tried that first.

Thanks for your help Ian, I really appreciate it.

Delighted you got it sorted. It was down to you; certainly not me:) No need to apologise. Thanks for the feedback.

Hello Kevin

Thank you for article.

I do use iCloud to sync between my devices and I did check my iPhone and iPad but there were no duplicates. I did discover a fix however, right after I posted my request for help.

I opened Calendar Preferences and the only thing there I could really do was uncheck the Birthday Calendar so that's what I did but nothing changed. I checked the box again and closed preferences. When I looked at my Calendar again the duplicates were gone.

Voila! Such a simply fix. Wished I would have thought of that to begin with, would have saved myself time and frustration.

Thank you for your help Kevin, I appreciate your time.

Kathy
