dual 2.3 vs 2.7 powermac differences

how big (other than .4 per processor ) are the performace differences between the dual 2.3 and dual 2.7 powermacs?? will i be able to tell a huge difference between the two?

will be used for moderate work on reason and logic and a lot of work for FCP...

i am debating purchasing one for the near future and was wondering if saving the few hundred bucks is worth it or not?

I would get the Dual 2.7, I did and I am insanely happy with it... plus it is supposedly more quiet because there is watercooling and the fans don't have to run as fast

Either one you get, make sure you a good amount of ram... I got 1GB pre installed then added three more gigs later.... this thing runs insanely fast

Everyone I have spoke to or who has used the Dual 2.7 has been very happy with it describing it as 'insanely great' (appropriate enough!)

However, that said, someone I know who is an Apple Video Solutions Expert said that the Dual 2.3 is the sweet-spot as it were, and stated that it was a better investment to get the Dual 2.3 and an upgraded GFX card and memory compared to the Dual 2.7.

Of course, I cannot comment on this as I have not used Power Mac G5s nearly as much as he has.

The only thing I will say is, you HAVE to get more than the stock 512MB, the system will be wasted on that amount, get a pair of 512s to bring you up to 2 1/2GB.
