Well, i broke my arm over spring break and in the airport going through security, i dropped my MBP trying to handle it with one arm. My heart about stopped. Landed on upper right corner by the screen. Display seems fine. I hear a cracking sound though quite often (hard drive???). Now, when I open up a program, i get the spinning color wheel for at least a minute and i get it a lot when surfing the net too. Everything seems slower. I have the usual warped lid like they all do, and i also used to hear a different cracking noise sometimes when it would first start up (before the drop). I was going to take it in for these problems before since its still under warranty. But i doubt warranty will cover anything now since the drop, right? Its only 8 months old, what should I do?

I'd take it into an Apple Store or an Apple authorized repair center and have them take a look at it. They can give you a repair estimate so you know what's wrong and how much it will cost.

Sounds like the HD might be dieing. I'd back it up as soon as possible, and do like Schweb said, take it to an Apple repair center.

Another vote for a damaged Hard Drive. Try taking it to Apple. It can't hurt.
