Yes. I just installed one of these drives this week. Buy today, as that is a great price!

CompUSA also offers the same pricing in-store if you have a store nearby.

On my unibody MBP the physical installation is super easy. Unscrew the bottom case. The HD is plainly visible. It is held in place by 2 additional screws. I've never replaced one in a polycarb MB, but I doubt it's much different.

You'll also need a way to transfer your data from the old drive to the new one. Either an external enclosure, or you can do a restore to the new drive via Time Machine.

Excellent. Thanks again. I was going to just use SuperDuper for the backup / restore so should be no biggie :)

I bought the Hitachi off the shelf from CompUsa. Thought I might have over paid a little, but at $99 + tax it's one of the lowest price for a 500GB 7200 rpm. Very quiet, no vibration. Very sweet.

Seagate Momentus 500GB has overall much better performance than the Hitachi or the Western Digital, but unless you're benchmarking I doubt you'd really notice the difference between them in everyday use. The next noticeable step up would be a SSD.

That's the one I just upgraded too last week.
