I'm always on the hunt for a better keyboard. For reference: My first Apple was the Apple ][+, so I have a loooong history with keyboards. I also write for a living, so I go through a lot of keyboards. And the Apple chiclet designs of recent years haven't been my favourite, and from time to time I play around with aftermarket models. The most recent one was an el-cheapo keyboard that supposedly had great switches, but in the end was uncomfortable and half the functions could only be enabled by installing Karibiner to remap some keys, but even then there were some that just would not work. And this all coincided with moving my home office into a new space in the basement... which led me to dig out some of my old equipment, including a nice old M7803 Apple Pro Keyboard, released in 2002 (the old beige model, not the black/silver updated one). What a joy to type on! Plugged it into my 5K iMac running Ventura. 100% compatible, comfortable, just the right kind of muted clicky-clacky sound, perfect travel... So all of this to say... on your next keyboard adventure, hit up eBay o Kijiji or something, and find yourself an older model Apple keyboard. It might be just what you need!
