Hello, I currently have a MacBook Pro A1226 (Late 2008, C2D 2.2ghz, OSX 10.5.8)
I have been trying to burn some discs recently (specifically linux install discs), however whenever I try to burn a DVD-Sized image (a few gigabytes), around the end of the process when it goes to "Finishing Burn", it ejects and the disc drive turns off. This even happens when I have it set to mount the disc at the end.
Also, it works fine when I try to burn CD-sized images (up to 700mb), and the disc completes burning and mounts.
Also, the disc drive turns off when I resume it from sleep, and I have to go to terminal and type:
To turn the disc drive back on. (it's one of the slot-loading drives)
If it matters, the laptop has been dropped a few times, however the disc drive continued to work.
Any help would be appreciated with this topic, as it is preventing me from burning DVDS.
PS: May I note that I am burning CD images onto DVD discs (which I have a lot of), and not onto CD-R/CD-RW discs. It doesn't seem to make a difference.
