Disc Burning not supported even though it should be

So i bought an external burner that under compatibility said mac os x, works fine except i cant burn using the disk utility. I need to burn a bootable iso file but nothing is happening, i got to my system profiler and get this

Disc Burning not supported whats goin on its a CD-RW drive

You need to try patchburn. Go to www.versiontracker.com and search for it.

That might do the trick
