I'm not certain which forum to post this question on so I'm giving OS X a try.

I have always had issues it seems with iCloud Drive. I have a iPhone 6 and a 2013 iMac. They sync contacts and calendars without any issue. Both devices use the same Apple ID and password.

The problem is with iCloud Drive. It seems that even though I use the same Apple ID and password when connecting to iCloud.com as my devices the folders found there do not match the folders that appear in iCloud Drive using Finder on my iMac. I cannot delete folders from the web browser. I have logged into my iCloud using Safari, Firefox and Chrome on both OS X and Windows. When I first got an iPhone I was in the Windows world and have since switched back to Apple with the iMac.

All web browsers show the same folders, and all will not allow me to delete the folders. Maybe I should correct that statement, they delete but come back in a few seconds with an error message of "there was a problem deleting "folder name," please try again later.

I have a current ticket with Apple and have spoken with two Senior Advisors and am still without the use of iCloud Drive even thought I have a 200 GB account.

Here is a photo of both my web browser iCloud Drive and iCloud Drive on my Finder

Maybe my understanding of iCloud Drive is flawed. I thought that files and folder placed into iCloud Drive on my iMac would show up on the web, as well as my iPhone. That I could add or edit files and folders from the web and iPhone and they would reflect those changes on my iMac.

I'm hoping that someone else out there has experienced this issues as I've been told by the Senior Advisors that "I'm Special" as they were not aware of this happening before. It was suppose to have been sent up the food chain to their engineers two weeks ago. As of today they still have no idea.

I have logged onto Safari and "logged out of all browsers."

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ~Gary

You may be less "special" than Apple believes. :)

Your post prompted me to check my own user folder, where I discovered the Mobile Documents folder was unopenable ... through the Finder. If I accessed it through the Go menu, it would "open" but only to an iCloud connection ... not local files.

Interestingly, I can put files INTO the Mobile document folder by dragging them onto it, and the show as being there in an EasyFind search, but they are not accessible (and don't -- at least not immediately -- appear on the iCloud Drive). Using EasyFind, I can double-click on them and they open, and I can remove them from the folder (which cautions me that they will be removed from iCloud Drive, even though they are not seen as being there when I check that).

"Get Info" on it reveals that one cannot alter the permissions on it (not that I'd want to). The whole screenshot of the "get info" panel for this folder is included below.

I'm running the latest (non-beta) version of El Capitan, and iCloud Drive works perfectly normally as far as I can tell apart from not showing things added into Mobile Documents. I have no idea if my (and your) situation is typical or not.

chas,

I appreciate the reply. I am running the latest version of El Capitan 10.11.1 and 9.1 on my iPhone.

on my iPhone the folders are encrypted and cannot be deleted as well. I can upload files/folders and sometimes I can delete individual files ( I think it depends on the day of the week, or maybe the way I look at the screen), but have not been able to delete the folders shown in the photo above.

I was told today Apple would check back with me on Tuesday to give me an update. I figure in the end it will be something very simple that I have done incorrectly.

Thanks again, Gary

I may have solved my issue.

I went into my iPhone settings>icloud>storage>manage storage>other documents> and instead of attempting to delete each folder individually I selected "delete all" and it removed all of the folders. When I tried each folder individually it failed to delete.

I then logged onto iCloud.com and the folders were gone.

I then copied a file on my iMac and pasted it into my iCloud drive in the finder and it shows up on iCloud.com. I then deleted it from iCloud.com and its now gone from my finder.

I'll wait till morning to see if anything changes.
