Difference in signal quality

Hi all,

I have an iMac Core Duo and a MBP Core2Duo. Both of which are sat next to each other on my desk. The MBP has a near full wireless signal from my router box. The iMac has a near dead signal from the same box, to the extent where it drops out from time to time. When it works it is just as fast as the MBP. When it fails to work it is darned annoying.

Have you any suggestions as to how I can get my iMac to get the same strength of signal and thus not drop out?

Oh and it is a Belkin router if that matters.

Guessing, but this makes sense, noise interferance is what I'm thinking. It's like holding a mic next to a speaker. You'll get feedback right... Are both on the same frequency i.e. A,B,G, or N?
