I don't think you could live long enought to fill it up with "normal" email use... You can fill it up REAL quick if you use it as remote storage though.

RIDE is right, unless you get a ton of messages with attachments, regular email isn't going to fill up that much space anytime soon.

I'm only at 4% and have had my account for quite some time now (I think I got my account early 2005, so it's been over 2 years and it's my primary account, so I get a ton of email)

My friend, though, who does use Gmail as remote storage, did fill his.

...and then, he created a new one. XD

Plenty of email attachments in that lot and I've had it for a couple of years now so I don't think I'll be worrying about it for a while yet ;)

I am thinking of uploading all my documents and spreadsheets to the docs and spreadsheets part - does anyone know if this 'area' is shared with your email storage?

I seem to remember it was on the 1st of April as the media thought their 1GB of email storage was an April Fools jokes, and again they thought the same the following year when Google announced 2GB of storage :) Or something like that anyway.

I maintain my email pretty well, so I'll never come close. But I'm sure power Google users who use remote storage, Picasa and webware production tools probably use quite a lot of their allotted space.

But I am only using it as a backup. I am dumping Yahoo (which was my backup) because tons of problems and spam. At first I was using gmail as storage.

Main reason for me using even the little 7% is because of the photo attachments i send every so often. If i didnt have that, then It'd more likely be around the 3% area :)

I'm also at 0%. This is because I enabled the POP setting and downloads my e-mails directly to OS X's Mail app.
