I saw a new icon in system tray at the bottom of the screen: "Diagnostic and Usage Messages". I opened it to find a lot of unfamiliar, disconcerting messages since the 30th. Should I be concerned? If so, what is causing, and what to do?

I am running OS X Yosemite v 10.10 if that matters.

The messages may have been created by ClamXav scans. (I don't know.)

At any rate, someone advised me to get rid of my crapadware infection by "Clear History and Website Data". I did that, and now, for a while, at least, the "Diagnostic and Usage Messages" box has disappeared. We will now see if the crapadware goes away, as well.
