DHCP no longer works

Hello all,

I've got an intel macbook, and since this evening I've got something strange going on: DHCP no longer works.

Setting an ip address manually works fine, but using dhcp I either get:
- Airport: no ip
- Ethernet: the self-assigned 169.x.x.x ip.

The router that's distributing the IP adresses works, I see them going out, and the PC's on the network work fine with DHCP:

I've already tried rebooting the machine, didn't help.

Any hints?

Have you recently hooked up more computers than normal to your network? Some routers will be set to only supply a handful of addresses at a time. If they run out of addresses, any computer requesting a new address will not get one and therefore assign an address in the APIPA range (169.254.0.0).

Check your router's DHCP client lease length and the number of addresses in the pool. If the lease length is long (more than a day), it will not reassign a leased address until after the lease expires.

Thanks, but that's not it. I'm using statically assigned IP addresses (through DHCP), MAC's are correct and everything.

I've just noticed that it doesn't happen while using another dhcp server, so it's probably an issue with my recently-reflashed broadband router that needs investigating.
