I've upgraded my M1 Mac to Monterey 12.0.1 but when I launch DetectX Swift Version 1.098, which I believe is the latest, I get 4 successive popups of the form:

DetectX Swift wants to make changes.

Enter your password to allow

Having entered my Mac's password plus OK or pressed cancel 4 times in. total, the app seems to run OK. Is anyone else seeing this? Thanks.

Same thing here. I suspect DetectX Swift will need to be updated to work correctly with Monterey. I'm not sure that it even runs after the last popup.

You might want to contact their support to find out if they intend to update it for Monterey.

I see exactly the same. After a little detective work I found their support page here; Contact
I have sent them an email regarding the problem and await their reply which I will post here asap unless someone beats me to it.;)

PS. Intego VirusBarrier Scanner works just fine.

Thanks Rod, let us know what they say. I suspect they just need to update the program to work with Monterey.

Yes I sent an email to the support people earlier and am awaiting a reply. No problems with VirusBarrier which I also use

No reply to my email yet but I did see this comment by Phil Stokes to a bug report, exactly the same as I’ve been seeing, raised in the product support area via the Slack app:

“It will be fixed, I use it myself in my day job, I just can't put a time frame on it. The more malware testing I have to do that needs Monterey though the more I'm going to need DetectX to work, so things will accelerate now that macOS 12 is public.”

So I guess we’ll just have to be patient and wait. No doubt some people will now download Malwarebytes :(

Not recommended by us. ;) Thanks for the additional info, we will wait for response from the developer.

Heaven forbid people turn to Malwarebytes it's hardly an alternative to DetectX Swift. Like going from minimalist to upsized burger with the lot.

Just spotted a further update from Phil Stokes via the Slack app.

“I finally figured out why DTXS ask for permissions exactly 4 times while launching on Monterey.
Good news: it's relatively simple to fix and we should have an update soon.
Workaround in the meantime: if you're using the UI version, you should hit 'Cancel' (x4). This has no effect on DTXS ability to search as the admin privs are neither required nor wanted at that point.”

So it seems DefectX Swift is still OK to use 😃

Here’s the link for anyone with a Slack account.

I should have mentioned that myself, the same thing happened to me, except I put in my admin password 4 times. It then seemed to run as usual but as it found nothing it was a little difficult to tell if it worked.
No reply yet from customer care but looks like we may just get it worked out between us.
Thanks for your sterling work mfpv.

DetectX Swift has now been updated to version 1.0982 and fixes the aforementioned issue with Monterey. I've ran the updated version a couple of times and all seems well :)

No email here but when you run the program it will offer to update itself although it acted a bit strange when it asked for permission to do the update.
