Defragmentation

How can I clean my hard drive in my computer. I deleted a bunch of applications, pictures, songs and other things. Some others I moved to my external HD. I still ge tthe same space available on my disk, even after emptying the trash can. Is there a program like in PCs that all your HD consolidates? defrag?

I don't believe you need to defrag but you can do a spotlight search on the apps you've deleted incase there are any bits-and-pieces laying around. Also Give Onyx or Mainmenu a try for a bit of cleaning and much much more.
