I have a couple of .dcm files that I would like to view. All my research hasn't turned up a way short of downloading some application that I don't know anything about. Can anyone suggest a solution to my request and if an application
needs to downloaded, give me one that isn't expensive (I only have two files) and one that MAC likes. Thanks

I saw that app too but at $699 I soon forgot it. The app is more for a doctor's office or some ER etc. I only have two files to view and am not spending that kind of money to look at them. But thanks for your help.

@ralphmorgan

I can confidently assure you that OsiriX is a bona fide app, widely used, as you observed within the medical community.

The even better news is that there is a free version called OsiriX lite which is what I use.

When you go on to their web site, click on the green triangle version (I think it has "lite" within it). You have to give them your email address and say that it is for personal use. They send send you an email with a link to download the app. It will run on Yosemite, but even more and quicker functions appear with El Capitan. However, that shouldn't bother you as are your requirements are modest. (In fact, it runs perfectly well on Mavericks on one of my Macs - fabulously, with El Capitan on my other).

*** that helps.
