I have a badly damaged MB Air Mid-2013 but have managed to harvest the SSD (PCIe format I think). Any ideas on how to access the data on it?

Depending on the physical configuration of the SSD (or flash storage). Install it into an external enclosure...then plug it in via USB to another computer.:)

Check with Mac Sales (OWC). I don't believe you're going to find an enclosure but you may be able to find an adapter to adapt PCIe to USB.

Sorry. Found some info at OWC mentioning that these enclosures are not compatible with 2013 MBA's.:(

I believe those SSD in those MB Airs use an Apple propriety connector so a bit of a bummer unless there's a compatible adapter available. :(

There is a adapter but its going to be more expensive then you think.

First you need a pci to pcie Adapter which would run you about 50.00 to 60.00 depending on where you get it.

Drawback you need a Thunderbolt to pci case and those are about 200.00 to 400.00 for a good one.

Honestly i personally wouldn't bother

Give OWC a call, they may have a suggestion. And of course it will probably fit fine your replacement MBA. :)
