MacInWin, just to clarify that point I mentioned. Let me say it has only happen once. I had saved the macOS Installer for Mavericks onto a USB thumb drive so that I could make some changes to the OS but in end decided to perform an erase and clean install. I copied the installer back onto the device. Now I'm pushing my memory here but when I double clicked on the installer I was told it had been "superseded" or maybe was outdated, honestly it wasn't such a big deal at the time just that it could not be used and I was casually advised to download the "current" version. Used to take about a day at that time. Sent from my ageing iPad Mini iOS 9.3.5 Mac-Forums
