Create an iCloud email address.

I have been trying to create an iCloud email address but when I get as far as inserting a name before the @icloud.com, what ever name I invent, i get a message telling me "That name is already in use". Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

You're probably not doing anything wrong. IIRC some users have reported this happening to them and waiting for a bit before trying again often resolces the issue.

You might try a really unusual name and see if that works.

Thanks for the reply Slydude. I have tried all sorts of very strange names to no avail. I'll keep trying from time to time and maybe ring Apple.

I tried a handful of combinations of my name and all of those were available. Not sure what you are doing wrong.
