iTunes can and will convert it to an MP3.
Open up your iTunes preferences and go to the 'Advanced' tab.
There, click on the 'Importing' tab and choose "MP3 Encoder" in the 'Import Using:' drop down.
Then when you go to your Library again, you will be able to see the "Convert to MP3" option under the Advanced section of the menubar on top of your screen.

Did the AAC or the MP3 fail?

The AAC failed to play on my RAZR. Then again, it's a Motorola product, so you can never expect it to work ;)

(READ: I love my RAZR.)

Like DB said, iTunes will convert AIFF to MP3 very easily! Since it's going ont he Razor, not sure how large you want the files, so also set the Bit Rate.

Well, I'd like to save at least SOME space on the RAZR, but I have about 7 songs on it.

Are you sure? If I recall, the RAZR uses a very different file type...

Keep the bit rate at 160k or less, my V3i won't play anything better than that reliably.
