Contacts greyed out in phone app

Hi

I have been struggling with this issue for months, and I hope I will get the help I need.

Some of my contacts in the phone app have been grayed out, I can't even delete them (first & second screenshots). the same contacts appear as unsaved on Whatsapp (third screenshot), I can't see the person's name.

I'm using iOS 10.3.3. However, this issue has been happening even way before I upgraded my software.

Attached, please see screenshots. Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

Thanks very much for the response.

I have tried the solution in the link you provided, and the problem still persists. The restrictions on my phone were off by default. I tried enabling and disabling them again, but still failed.

What do you have listed in your "contacts.app" on your Mac? And are you syncing your contacts using iCloud? I've had some difficulty in the past with "WhatsApp" and quit using it.

You should be able to do the same thing on a PC in Windows using iTunes. Read the following Apple Article which shows how.
