Connecting PC iPod to a Mac

I just got a new PowerBook yesterday and I want to format my old PC iPod for mac. How do I go about doing this?

12" 1Ghz PB 768Mb 10.4.5 30Gb Video iPod 40Gb 3G iPod 1Gb iPod Shuffle
use the iPod updater software, just make sure you have all your songs in your iTunes music libary, failing that just leave it as it is. Will work no probs

I downloaded the newest iPod updater and ran it, and it said that it would only work with Mac format iPods.

edit - OK i figured it out, I had to go to restore on the updater. Thanks for your help though
