I really like VLC, but I do not like that when I use my apple remote to turn the volume up or down, it only adjusts vlc's volume and not my system volume. I would rather vlc's volume control stay the same (or not exist at all) and have my remote adjust the system volume only. Is this possible? I've looked through the preferences and haven't found it.

This issue was brought up to the VLC team years ago and they said that doing so would break their audio output module. So don't hold your breath about this being implemented anytime soon.

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
Hmm, I just noticed that my remote doesn't work at all when VLC is open.

It still might, you have to hit the button like 15 times before you slightly hear a difference in volume.
Is there an app out there that plays videos in a playlist (not itunes) that wont **** me off?
