I bought a Macair when it first came out in mid 13 with i7. It has been an ongoing nightmare. The harddrive failed, it had to be restored within one week of purchase and it has been all downhill from there. The same model was recalled but was advised my "batch" was not recalled. After months of frustration, am considereing buying iMac. I have bought Macs for everyone in my family, and they never had any trouble. What would you suggest? I use it for WORK - documents, etc., not games

An iMac is a great machine. I have owned two in addition to a MacBook, however, if you need portability, an iMac is not something you can lug around. ;) Sorry to hear of the trouble you've had with your MacBook Air since it appears you may have gotten a "lemon". If the machine is still giving you problems and you have documented all of them with Apple, I would pursue having them replace the machine. Apple is noted for their great customer service and who knows... they may surprise you.
