Classic OS 9 question...

Hi,

I currently have OS 10.3.7 running on my Powerbook G4. I regularly use the Classic OS 9 as i have an old version of Emagic Logic (music software) that doesnt run on OS X. Thing is, i am looking at buying some music hardware that is compatible with OS 9.2.2 but no previous versions. Does this mean i need to upgrade my version of Classic that runs alongside OS X?

If i have to upgrade, how do i do it (obviously i still want to run it alongside OS X)??

Thanks,

if you have 10.3.7 then probably your classic is 9.2.2

Go to the OS 9 system folder, find the "System" file and click on it once. Use Command-I (or the get info item in the file menu) to get info. The version should be 9.2.2. Or, with Classic running, run Apple System Profiler in the OS 9 Apple Menu and check the system version. As Mac-simus said all recent macs come with 9.2.2 so you probably have it now.
If you do need to update go to the Apple.com site and search for OS 9 updates. Once you have the correct version downloaded just follow the instructions in the installer. It will update 9 without affecting 10.
