How do they 17/20/23" displays connect to the powermacs? Is it through something only on powermacs? Is it possible to connect one to an iMac? I was just wondering since I never knew how they were connected to the power mac.

i don't think they can be connected to iMacs. The iMacs have a DV out port so you can have an extra monitor but the Cinema Displays use apples propietory ADC connector which gets powr and video signal through one cable.
