Checked out the iMac's at Best Buy today...

Compared the 21.5" and 27" models and I was blown away by the 27" model...just stunning in person! I was trying to debate if I could get away with the 21.5" model (it looks big enough for me) but with the monster 27" sitting right next to it, there was no decision to make...the 27" iMac definitely makes a statement and will be the talk of my bedroom

Smart choice. The 27" model is upgradeable (memory) while the 21.5" model is not. And the 27" model has much better graphics. Enjoy your new Mac!

Just curious, do you know why the 21.5" models were made so you couldn't upgrade the memory down the road but the 27" was? Why not make it possible for both sizes?

The 21.5" iMac is an entry level desktop Mac while the 27" iMac is more advanced. As I stated, better graphics, faster CPU, larger screen, and so forth. The 21.5 model prior to 2012 was upgradeable and also had an optical drive.
