If you had a 30inch screen I would officially hate you.

Does anyone know some good lines to make my wife believe I need a Pro and big screen?

You see honey, this computer I have now is just too slow, it takes hours to get work done, but with the new Mac Pro I will get my work done way faster and have more time to spend with you.

Seing as you have a new Mac Pro would it be possible to answer some questions about it?

- Have you managed to put Windows XP onto your Mac Pro using bootcamp? and If so how well does it run?

- If you play any games (i.e some latest 3D games) how well do they play using bootcamp? (If you use bootcamp)

- Do you use any Adobe programs such as photoshop or Illustrator? If so how well do these programs run?

Sorry about the many questions but I find reviews all over the internet that all have different opinions depending on whether or not they are a MAC Fanboy or they just like PC's.

Thanks, Billy

Funny how you can assume that he can actually be talking TO the Mac Pro on that second part.

Have you thought of placing it on something other than the floor? Alot of computer desks are sold with computer stands that either sit beside or under the desk, & there is also companies that sell these seporately & inexpensively. They help computers have better air flow, collect less dust, & make it easier to slide them out so you can vaccume around your desk. Just a thought. :)

I haven't tried any of these yet. I will be reinstalling world of warcraft and adobe suite in a few days. I can give updates shortly. :)

Nope never thought of it, makes sense though. I'll have to see if Ikea's got one for the desk I have (since it's from ikea) or if I can find one that fits the mac pro perfectly.

Ok, so I officially hate you! LOL just kidding. I want a Mac Pro as well, but I am waiting until the Spring so I won't have to upgrade to Leopard and iLife 07. I can't say it's going to be an EASY wait, but I have a gaming PC and a 12" Powerbook, so there really is no valid reason to get one now. Besides, I'd prefr to wit for the Rev. 2 models, and the things I've been hearing about BootCamp problems should be all squared away when it's time for me to buy. WHo knows, there may even be a speed refresh by then.

An AMD 3800+ X2, Radon X1800XT, 2 gigs of memory, 74 gig Raptor and 400 Gig drive, full watercooling, is all going bye-bye when I do get the Mac Pro. That will be my complete switch.

I still can't beleive I'm doing it. I've been a hardware enthusiast/builder for about 4 years. But my Nov 2005 - September 2006 experience with Apple and my Powerbook has convinced me that the full swich must happen.

That's how I was until I got my first powerbook in August 2004. I haven't upgraded my PC at all since then except for a new case and Power Supply for it.

You could try telling Mrs davetheblaze that her picture would look absolutely gorgeous blown up on on a nice big screen, and that you'd love to show her that it's so. Good luck.
