I finally managed to modify system font on my MBP os x 10.5.8.
No glitches, no errors!
Here's how:
I used a tutorial on Macthemes.net Hybrid/Modification forum that explains how, but they encountered some errors which I managed to fix.
The principle is to generate/modify a font with all same settings as LucidaGrande dfont (data fork font, exclusive to os x 10.5) using FontLab Studio.
LucidaGrande is sytem font on OS X and need to be replaced with modified font with the same name (renamed) in order to work. The best is to do mods on a copy of LucidaGrande.dfont, and just copy/paste new symbols in the same slots as in LG.
I used free font called Sansation, replaced all the symbols from Sansation to LucidaGrande in FontLab Studio, made a new dfont using Generate Suitcase option, named it LucidaGrande.dfont and replaced the existing one in system folders. I provided the aliases to the folders where the fonts should be replaced in the file bellow.

Notice: Before you do any mods, backup your original font, so you can replace it back if you ever want.
