Just plug it into the MBP, it will detect that it hasn't sync'ed to it before and will prompt you for it. If you choose to continue, it will sync the data from the MBP to the iPad. If the data is different or nothing at all, you will lose everything..
The sync'ing is controlled more from the computer side and less from the iDevice side. Also, you cannot sync with multiple computers..

Thanks, but I can't get it to work, as it wants me to be on ACpower on the iPad, and it will sync over Wi-Fi.
on the ipad,I go to General/iTunes Wi-Fi Sync and get that message. Is there another way?
