Can't reset Safari - hijacked

MBA13" 2012 Mavericks. Was trying to watch japanese drama on gooddrama.net and safari was hijacked. tried to reset, but option is greyed out. can't get to any other sites unless I agree to download a media downloader from the hijack site. tried restarting, shutting down, to no avail.

Am currently logged in guest acct to get to safari.

Do have a time machine backup. Can someone advise on how to restore Safari on the administrative account. new to macs. Thanks.

Try:

- Disconnecting your computer from the WiFi network then reset.
- Disable auto-loading of webpages & tabs for Safari (when relaunched).
- Try resetting Safari's history & cache.

Disconnected from wifi and then used the reset Safari function. Clicked on Clear History as under History tab as well. Wasn't sure how to get to the second option you listed. Hope this helps someone else. Thanks again.

It worked !

I had the same problem this morning with Safari all greyed after a pop-up requiring to clean my OSX 10.7 was stuck on my screen.
It appeared while I was looking for holiday homes legislation in Italy...

Solved by disconnecting from WiFi and rebooting Safari (reboot no longer grey after disconnetting WiFi)

Thank you for your suggestion. My safari was hijacked today and your post saved me!

Try:
