Can't Remove ISkySoft Converter!

I have this horrible thing called ISkySoft converter on my computer because my idiot nephew downloaded porn using this converter he installed. I cannot get it off Safari even though I put it in the trash and emptied it. On every single page I go to this 'Download' icon shows up. Whenever it pops up, it distorts any audio or video I am playing.

I found this post here on how to delete it: http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/os-x-apps-games/222296-iskysoft-delete-uninstall.html but it is not working.

The instructions were to go to the IskySoft site and re-download it and then click on 'Remove' in the Iskysoft folder that should be in the Apps folder, but there is no folder, just the icon. I don't want to click on the icon to open it for fear it would make the situation worse.

Anybody know what to do or why there is no "folder" for this thing?

If you don't click and open it, you won't be able to access the uninstall routine.

Okay, it's open now but all it did was take me to the website. I still don't know how to access this uninstall thing.

Did you follow the instructions given in the link you provided? Also take a look at post number 14 in that thread and try that in addition to the uninstall instructions.

Those instructions say to go to Google Chrome Extensions but this is happening in Safari and when I went into Safari extensions, it brought up a website from Apple and I searched for Iskysoft and nothing.

Okay, I finally got that download button off all three search engines, but what a workout. Quicktime videos are playing better, but youtube videos are still not playing great.

Never ever ever ever again is that kid coming near my computer!

Thanks for putting up with me, everyone. I need a fat-free cookie now . . .

Glad to hear you succeeded in removing it. Make sure you password protect your Mac for log on and also when entering sleep and screen saver (if you use one). That way you can keep unwanted family members or whoever off the machine.

And instead of throwing your Mac through the window, throw your nephew.

iskysoft is also having problems because people are releasing fake iskysoft products that contain malware only download from the real iskysoft

And the "real" iskysoft is a bunch of Chinese spammers who port junkware Windows apps to Mac versions! Just avoid software from companies ending in the words -share or -soft*

*with the possible exception of Microsoft, as you wish.
