Can't find Mail!!!

So I erased my hard drive to do a fresh install of Snow Leopard. I backed up my desktop, documents, mail, and lots of other stuff, but I have NO IDEA how to recover my mail. The biggest problem is that all of it was deleted from the server, so the only chance I have of getting my lost mail back is if it was stored somewhere in that backup. Does anyone have a clue what the files are stored under, and how/if I can import/recover them?

Thanks tons!

The messages/attachments in Mail are stored in the Library folder inside your user account. There are two folders called "Mail" and "Mail Downloads" (without the quotes). If you can find them in your backup and drop them into the same location on your hard drive.

Note: Replace these folders after you quit Mail then restart Mail to see if the mailboxes/messages reappear. I think that is how I did it last time.
