Can't burn from i photo - drive not supported

I've tried burning photos onto dvd and cdr. Everything seems to be working, until the final stage, and it then fails saying that there is an unknown error and that the drive is not supported. I burnt something a short while back no problem.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any help is gratefuly appreciated - I'm at the end of my tether here!!

Have you tried a test by burning directly from the Finder?

1. Select some photos in iPhoto
2. Drag them out to the desktop (this creates copies)
3. Quit iPhoto
4. Insert blank disc, wait for icon to appear on desktop
5. Copy photos from desktop to blank disc icon
6. Drag disc to "trash" (now the burning symbol), answer "yes" to the confirmation.

How'd that go?
