Morning all and thanks in advance for replies.

I had a power failure last night and my iMac was on sleep when everything went out. I am running Leopard/Version 10.6.4.

I waited a bit and then turned the computer on. When I first turned it on, I got the gray screen with the Apple logo. After several minutes, the screen darkened and a message appeared telling me to restart my computer. I did and the process repeated itself.

I then shut it down and tried starting it while holding down the option key. The Mac logo appeared so I clicked on it but it still would not boot. So I shut down again.

Then I started it up and this time I held down the command, option and the p and r keys. I heard the first chime but the second chime never came.

I am at a loss here. If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Bonnie

Way... way too many specs to list.
Boot off your restore media disk, and run disk utility. Start there.

It couldn't perform a disk utility and says I need to re-install. Of course I didn't back-up my photos, documents, etc. Lesson learned the hard way here.
