cannot open pdf file

Recently and seems suddenly, I cannot open pdf files that were downloaded on desktop.
Also, I cannot read pdf files on internet. I could do this before.
When I tried to click the pdf file on internet, all browers dead. This happened every time. So annoying! The Adobe Acrobat I use is 7.0 Professional.

My Mac OS is 10.4.7. But I cannot install a software that says need Mac OS 9.1 or later version. IS it weird?

Any help and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

hey! a lot of times it saves pdfs as .pdf, the comma or period makes it unopenable, you just need to edit the extension to .pdf

Go to your Acrobat preferences>Internet and make sure that "display PDF in Browser" is checked.
as far as opening the files downloaded to your desktop, highlight the file and hit Command + I to bring up the info window. Then make sure that Acrobat 7.0 is selected on the "Open with" dropdown and that you choose the "Change All" button where is says 'Use this application to open all documents like this'.

You may also need to do a permissions repair to make sure that things are going smoothly.

Thanks D3v1L80Y.
I will try what you said.

I found as along as I open Acrobat, then I can open all pdf files downloaded.
Then I fould after I deleted this two files from my hardware, I can open most pdf files on internet. Some of them I cannot open. It says: file is damaged and cannot be repaired. It's weird.

It's clear? Everytime after I turn on the laptop, I have to open Acrobat first and delete these two files, then, I can read any pdf files downloaded and most pdf files on internet.

I checked what you said and there is no any problem. How weird!

How could I do a permissions repair?

Thanks again.
