I would like to upgrade to Yosemite but am concerned that it will bog down on my 4 year old Macbook. Any thoughts?

Here's the details:

Macbook Pro, 17 inch (purchased Mar 2010)
2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
8GB 1067 MHz DDR3 (after market upgrade)
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
500GB hard drive with 88GB free free

Thanks in advance!

The hard drive is becoming a little full Edo. Many recommend a minimum o 20% free space in order the drive work correctly and you are a little under that, same as your other post.

All hard drives fail and have personally found WD to be good hard drives.

I agree with harryb. The hard drive is getting too full and Western Digital makes good drives.
