My wife just got a new a1278, which came with a 10.6 disk. I've tried to upgrade my old a1150 to 10.6 with that disk, but can't seem to do so. Based on everything I've read, I should be able to upgrade straight from 10.4 to 10.6. Is there a reason the included 10.6 disk from my wife's a1278 doesn't work? Do I need to buy a 10.6 install disk from apple.com to upgrade my a1150?

Thanks.

Yes, you need to purchase a disc if you want to upgrade your older Mac.

The disc supplied with her Mac is for her Mac, e.g. a single machine.

The discs that ship with Macs are also system specific.
