Can I get a legal copy of iPhoto for Mountain Lion?

When I upgraded my Mac Mini from Snow Leopard (10.6) to Mountain Lion (10.8), I wanted to get iPhoto. The App Store only had a version for Mavericks. I contacted Apple, and they told me they could not sell me a version for Mountain Lion.

Is there another source of a legal copy? Thanks.
