Most Panasonic models we have used have an easy to use call blocker, at least for engaging right after receiving an unwanted call, but I believe the limit is 32 numbers (and ours is now full), also many phone services provide the service but it may be a paid for option.

Check with your phone service support folks, and it may even be included in your service.

PS: I'm not exactly sure what your "desktop (land line) phone" actually is.

Patrick gave you some good advice above. You might also want to take a look around your local Stapes or Office Depot store for one of those programmable answering machines. Most of them also include a call blocker. I'm not sure what the limit is on how many numbers you can block but it's likely to be better than what the phone company can provide doing it.

By the way, blocking calls on an iPhone or Android is very easy to do. You just tell the phone to only allow calls from those who are listed in your contacts list or use a free blocking application such as "Hiya".

And next time, please post in the proper forum. We moved your post here wher it is on topic.

Indeed it is. Another way. Simply go to your list of recent callers (open the Phone app, then hit the "Recents" tab at the bottom). Click the 'i' symbol next to the unwanted number, scroll down and tap "Block this Caller", then confirm your decision. You won't be bothered with any calls, texts or FaceTime calls from that number.

Should you want to view those blocked callers; Settings > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification (Or Blocked in earlier iOS). There is the list. Clicking on Edit allows you to unblock a caller.

(Whilst here, you can tap "Block Contact", but this will only let you block callers who are in your Contacts list - less likely they are there, perhaps).

Thanks for the replies, Patrick, Ian & chscag. I've done some research since I first posted and I've narrowed it down to a couple of models.
