Yes I used my browser to check iCloud settings too. Like in iOS and MacOS, they're all checked for birthdays

Are you experiencing any other issues with Calander on the Mac? Since Disk First Aid seems to have fixed the problem once I wonder if the Calander preference file has become corrupted.

No other problems. Calendar is checked on iCloud, iPhone XR and MacBookAir. The unchecked birthdays box happens only on the MacBookAir after (re)start. The DiskUtility attempt was maybe coincidental. I treid again and no difference
