Hello.

I have an iPad Mini and misplaced the cable. Will a class A cable suffice? Or are class A cables detrimental to the iPad in any particular way?

Thanks!

Many places sell replacement cables for your iPad Mini including Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, and of course your local Apple Store. Additionally there are numerous resellers on line that you can order from. Only use a cable that is specifically made for your iPad Mini.

I have no idea what you mean by a class A cable?

I'm referring to non-Apple lighting cables. I figured if I was going to use it to charge the device only, I might as well just use it, provided it does not hurt the device.

Using a non Apple lightning cable should be OK provided it's of good quality. Mac Sales (OWC) sells lightning cables and even has them in various colors. They're good cables.

Noted. Thanks again chscag!

Hello - take a look at Apple's Recommendations - you need to obtain a genuine Apple (or Apple certified) cable for reliable charging - there are plenty of cheap knockoffs, so buying a handful of the latter will likely cost you more than one that works - Dave :)
