Buying from other countries

Ok,

Ive ran into a little problem, Does anyone know why you cannot purchase music from other countries such as the uk via iTunes music store ?, I can search and browse through these stores and find artists I'm looking for, but when I go to purchase the selected album, it does not let me it says my account is only valid for purchases in the US music store, It then takes me to the US music store. The problem is, the us store does not have the artists album I am trying to purchase. Does anyone have any insight on how I could get around this little problem. Thanks.

If anyone is interested the artist is Lordi, they are a band from finland. The album im trying to purchase is. Hard Rock Hallelujah. Thanks again.

Each country has it's own laws regarding royalties, etc.

If you haven't already do a Google News for 'France ipod' to see an example of sorts.

But I still dont know why it's not availible, I mean it's previewable but I cant download it. I'd still be paying for it. Ole well, thanks for your help.

It's all about the companies that represent the bands. Apple has to sign an agreement with each of these companies, sometimes that's a problem—sometimes not. Sometimes it results in Apple having permission to sell a particular band only in UK, or France, or some other country.

For example, here in Canada I cannot buy any TV Shows. The reason is that Apple has signed agreement with the US companies to distribute their content, but that doesn't include Canada... and they haven't signed anything with any Canadian companies. As such Canada does not have any TV Shows available for sale on iTMS.
