buying a macbook from Ebay, please advise

Hi,

I'd like to buy a macbook from eBay and I'd like to hear other peoples thoughts and experiences buying from ebay. I'd Specificaly I'd like to hear from people who bought form Israel about import duty and if it's possible to
install Hebrew and if so how.

Definitely check the feedback of the seller! My median for buying from someone is 95% positive with hundreds of transactions under their belt. I have had no trouble buying on eBay with these criterion.

Make sure you get the restore disks with the computer. Can save lots of headache and trouble later.

I bought a g3 900 mghz ibook from Ebay a couple of months ago. It took me 2 weeks to get it. That's the only draw back you have to wait a while.

All good suggestions, make sure payment is through paypal or a major credit card, no money orders or checks so that you can recoup some of the money if the deal goes bad.

ONLY buy from someone on Ebay that has a at least 99% Positive feedback and a LOT of it too. Read their feedback comments and see why they got any negative even if it's one. Read their ad very carefully, see they are properly describing the computer. Make sure the price is in line with the going rate for that machine. Too low a price makes me wonder if something is up.

me, i have about 110, but im an excellent ebayer. I personally look for smaller sellers, as they tend to sell things on ebay just to get rid of them, not as a job!

i also look for exactly what i want, cause its always on ebay! in addition, the person must people contactable over the phone, for purchases such as laptops. i will never place bids until i speak with someone when spending over say 200$

It's not just the number of feedback but the quality. I read quite a few of the comments when trying to make up my mind to trust a seller. I am sure you are a very trustworthy person. I only have 89 but every one is very positive.
