Bringing the top menu bar options closer to the app window?

I am using a Mac Mini M1 with a 34" ultrawide monitor, and I am suffering with the top menu bar. I normally have my primary windows snapped to the right of the screen, and secondary windows on the left. That means there is quite the distance from my primary app windows to the menu bar, which is very distracting.

Are there any tools that can move it horizontally, or somehow bring it closer to the app window?

Install either Spectacle or Rectangle (both free) and then use the appropriate short-cut, option+cmd+f for the former and ctrl+option+return for the latter to make a window take up the full screen or use the arrows to position windows on the left or right. This will cause the app to take up all available space between the menu bar and dock.

I think the OP was describing concern about the horizontal distance between the open windows on the right (which is where she/he wants them) and the Menu Bar commands that are tethered to the upper left. I don't know of any third party app that will allow you to either temporarily or "permanently" move the Menu Bar commands to the center or upper right of the screen (thus switching positions with the icons and date/time). I'm pretty confident in saying that the native OS does not include such an option.

Here is an example. I have my primary application open on the right. When I need to interact with its menu, there is a looooong wa to say File/Edit/History etc. I am looking for ways to bring those menu options closer.

You got it right, anything that would help bring the menu items closer to where they are needed.

While not what I was looking for with this specific questions, this actually addresses another question I was planning to ask :) So thanks.

Thanks for the screenshot and clarity and as @toMACsh mentioned, you can't change that. This is one of the downsides of using an ultrawide monitor to have 2 windows side-by-side.

Might I suggest that you employ the shortcuts for the application instead of specifically clicking on the File/Edit options.

I used to have an application installed that would allow you to hold down the CMD key and it would show all the shortcuts supported by that application. Let me see if I find that again.

Update: Found the app...it's called Cheatsheet (link error).

I do use shortcuts for most thing, but in complex applications, I usually still need menus, but that app looks like it could be very helpful! Thanks.

Menu Anywhere might do the trick for you.
Using a keyboard shortcut (mouse triggers did not seem to work for me) an alternate menu will popup at the position of your mouse-pointer.

Thanks for the suggestion and the link and welcome to Mac-forums forums.

I was thinking that the OP could set up or modify a Keyboard Shortcut to do what they wanted but that application/utility looks like it can do a lot more.

That's great that a two year old suggestion would be of such a great help to you and still work, and welcome to Mac-forums forums.

I guess zombie threads can be useful sometimes.

Any suggestions and software that help a Mac User use their Mac the way they want is certainly welcome regardless where the information about them is found I would say, and it's also nice to see that such software is still seemingly able to run on the most recent not OS versions.
