I did a search on this forum for my screen brightness issue, but couldn't find a solution (possible I missed it since there are a lot of items listed when doing a brightness search).

I have two users on my 2011 MBP, an administrative user and a standard user. Although the Display and Energy Saver Preferences are set exactly the same, my Admin user has a nice bright screen while my Standard user has a very noticeably dimmer screen. MBP is plugged into the Power Adapter.

My Power Adapter settings (same on both users) are as follows:

Display
1280 x 800 Automatically Adjust Brightness is checked.

Energy Saver
Computer Sleep - 3 Hours
Display Sleep - 1 Hour

All items are checked except "Restart Automatically if Computer Freezes".

Ami I missing something?

Thanks.

The brightness settings - if they're the same as the '11 MBA are controlled with the F1 & F2 keys.

Now I feel stupid. I'm a longtime Windows user, but new to Macs. When I set up my new MBP about 6 months ago, I reviewed all the common functions, short cuts, etc. and then just forgot everything I didn't use on a daily basis. Somehow my brightness setting got changed and I didn't remember that F1 & F2 controlled brightness.

Sorry to waste forum space for something I should have remembered. It's just that I find the MPB so intuitive and easy to use on a daily basis, I've quickly become spoiled .
