Ok, heres a few questions I have:

1. When I click on "quicktime" from the dock it bounces and shows the blue dot underneath it like it's running but never pops open. I even right click and nothing to get it to open. And is there a way to disable when i skip ahead it pauses instead of just continuing to play.

2. I downloaded the program to enable to play windows media player stuff through quicktime and it works i guess ( what i mean is every time i try to skip ahead it doesn't. (had quicktime issues b4 DL this)

3. I found this once but can't again. How do I show the hard disk on desktop.

4. how do i deleted programs i downloaded.

I'm brand new to mac so I'm sure I will have more questions later LOL thanks for all who answer.

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
1. nothing should pop up other than a Quicktime menu bar.
I Don't know how you are working Quicktime, but, I think you should go to the help many in this app which will answer all these questions.
1 & 2. I suggest downloaded VLC VLC media player - Open Source Multimedia Framework and Player
3. Go to finder preferences/general/tick show Hard Disk
4. If they have uninstallers, use those, others wise just drag to the trash. You can also use AppCleaner or many other apps which will delete the tiny little files occasionally left behind. AppCleaner

that actually means the app is available - next step go to File drop down menu and navigate to which file you wish to open.
Have a look here at the freebie - it may answer a few questions for you.
